This program supports people with disability and their support network of family and friends to form a microboard.
Our learning program is broken down into 3 learning modules:
Plan and Collaborate – learn how to work with microboard members to identify goals, make a plan and build and safeguard a good life.
Incorporate – Develop your policies and constitution and complete the paperwork required to incorporate in your state.
Roles and Responsibilities – Understand the roles and responsibilities of board members
Delivery of the Learning Program
Learning is supported through online learning modules that can be shared among microboard members. Participants also attend 2 intensive workshops to consolidate their learning. Also included in the program is individual microboard mentoring which is done either in person, over the phone or online.
Sometimes families need more time to complete the program and that can be done at no extra cost.
Support to Implement Learning
To support microboards to implement what they learn and problem solve any hurdles, Microboards Australia offers monthly webinars where microboard members can pose problems and have the support of mentor families to resolve them.
We also support participants to gather with their peers in peer support groups and provide some structure on how to get the best outcome from these groups.
At the moment we are not registered with the NDIS so cannot offer services to those people whose NDIS plans are NDIA managed.
